Kidney Holistic Institute · Precision Nephrology™
Because restoration starts with understanding.
Your kidneys are communicating. Genomics is how we learn to listen, not to predict a fixed future, but to understand the terrain you are working with, so the plan we build together fits the body you actually have. The kidney is a downstream organ, so the genes that shape its trajectory are largely not kidney genes; they are the metabolic, inflammatory, detox, hormonal, nutritional and gut systems upstream. That is what whole-system means.
See if the Profile is right for you
Two Reports, Two Questions
They answer two different things, and we keep them visibly distinct, so a functional finding is never read as a diagnosis, and no result is ever mistaken for another.
Is there an inherited cause?
Whole-genome analysis reads your complete genetic code for clinically significant variants across the nephrology diagnostic gene set:
A finding here can change the direction of care: it may clarify a diagnosis that has been uncertain for years, inform which treatments are appropriate, and give family members information they did not have. An absence of findings is also information, it narrows the field.
This report is performed and clinically reported by the sequencing laboratory. APOL1 is reported here, in Report One.
How is your system working, and what does it need?
Most kidney decline is not caused by a single gene. It emerges from how your whole system handles pressure, inflammation, oxidative stress, detoxification, nutrients, hormones and blood sugar over years. Approximately 185 genes across 35 sections, organized into nine chapters:
These findings are tendencies, not verdicts, and not a diagnosis. They tell us where your system is likely working harder than it should be, which is precisely where change makes the most difference.
What This Maps Onto
The functional report is organized around the HEAL Protocol, so what we learn translates directly into what we do.
What Arrives at Your Door
From the at-home collection kit to the two reports and your HEAL Protocol guide, prepared to the standard the work deserves.
The Process
A saliva or cheek swab, no blood draw. Your kit is everything you need.
Both reports are prepared and quality-checked before we sit down with you.
In a dedicated consultation you leave with your results explained in plain language and a plan built from them.
What Genomics Is, and What It Isn't
Your DNA holds roughly 25,000 genes across three billion units of code. Small variations shape how your body makes hormones, handles inflammation, clears toxins and uses nutrients. These are not defects, they are the specific way your system is built, and most of what they describe can be worked with. Genomics is one input among several: it sits alongside your labs, your history and your symptoms; it does not replace them, and it does not predict what will happen to you. It tells us where to look more closely.
Genetic findings are always interpreted in the context of your full clinical picture, and no treatment or medication is ever started, stopped or changed based on genomic results alone.
Before any testing, we walk you through a full consent that covers exactly what the analysis includes and how your results are handled, so nothing is ever a surprise.
